January 20th 2008 evening marked the ninth annual ‘Church Together’ celebration in the Rotary Art Show Tent on Warland Reserve.

This special event was presented by the Combined Christian Churches of Victor Harbor, and supported by hundreds of locals representing the many and various Christian groups in the region.

In previous years, up to 700 people have gathered in the tent for this celebration as an expression of unity amongst the churches.

This years service commenced at 6:30PM with music and song led by the Church Together Choir and Band and, for the very first time, the Church Together Children’s Choir!

Elected members from the City of Victor Harbor, including Mayor Mary-Lou Corcoran, again attended this year’s event, and a public address was given by local member for Finniss, Michael Pengilly.

Prayers for the region were offered, and a financial gift taken up for local school chaplaincy (pastoral support).

Guest speaker at this years event was Tony Rainbow (pictured), who serves as the leader of Victory Christian Centre in Para Vista. Tony spends much of his time travelling around the globe speaking at various churches, leadership conferences and men’s events.  His message was well received, applicable and pointed the church toward taking resposibilty for the lost in our community.

We are endeavouring to make that message available for download as soon as possible!
